Alfonse N. Pham is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Michigan State University National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from Indiana University, Bloomington in May 2014 where he worked on the design and construction of a compact electron storage ring for extreme environment radiation effects testing. He received his M.S. in Physics from Indiana University, Bloomington and B.S. in Physics at the University of California, Los Angeles. His current research focuses on the design and construction of an electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) ion source injector for production of CW heavy ion beams at the ReAccelerator Facility (ReA). His research interest also include the application of particle accelerator technology for x-ray production, radiation effects testing, subcritical reactors, particle therapy, and wastewater treatment.
