Ben Crider

2006: B.S. in Physics, Mathematics at the University of Richmond
2014: Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Kentucky under Prof. Steve Yates, focus in low energy nuclear structure and neutron cross section measurements.

I am interested in the fundamental structure and properties of both stable and exotic nuclei and what they can tell us about the nature of the strong force. Additionally, I am interested in the properties of nuclear reactions (in particular, neutron interactions) and how these can be applied to the development of next generation reactor design. With any nuclear reactor development, current societal viewpoints and biases must be addressed so that such technology can both be funded, utilized, and trusted. With this in mind, I’m interested in taking part in this work group.
