Jacob is a second year PhD Student in the Nuclear Engineering department at the University of California, Berkeley where he works on Scintillator Characterization with Dr. Bethany Goldblum’s Bay Area Neutron Group (BANG). He first graduated from North Carolina State University with Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, and Political Science with a minor in the Middle East Studies in 2019 and then worked as a Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellow at the Nuclear Threat Initiative with their International Fuel Cycle Strategies Team before becoming a graduate student here at Berkeley. Jacob is interested in the nexus of technology and policy, particularly related to nuclear security and the future of Arms Control and Disarmament.
