Mahek is a first year Ph.D. student in the Nuclear Engineering department at the University of California, Berkeley. She is interested in nuclear non-proliferation and hopes to learn more and gain experience in the realm of nuclear public policy. She completed her undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Irvine where she assisted in an ultrafast laser plasma interactions lab. Her current research at UCB is centered around short pulse fiber accelerators.
