Shreyas Srinivasan, an active member of the NPWG since January 2013, is currently a third-year undergraduate pursuing a joint degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences and Nuclear Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Ever since he visited Los Alamos National Laboratory in the summer of 2011, Shreyas has been fascinated by physics and nuclear science. Starting in June, 2014, he started working as a Research Affiliate with Kai Vetter’s Applied Nuclear Physics group at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. His main tasks include hardware analysis and troubleshooting, software development, and detector characterization as part of the RadMAP project. In June, 2014, Shreyas presented a poster at the UITI conference in Walnut Creek, CA, regarding the Helium-3 shortage and its effect on IAEA safeguard verifications. His other interests include electrical hardware, music, and basketball. In the future, Shreyas hopes to study radiation detection and signal processing in graduate school and eventually work in the private sector.
