ROBERT CRABBS
I received my B.S. in Engineering Physics here at Cal in 2009. I am now a fourth-year Nuclear Engineering graduate student, pursuing a career teaching physics and nuclear engineering at the university level. To date (Spring 2014), I have been a Graduate Student Instructor in three courses and am now facilitating my first full course. My research explores the use of Compton Tracking to measure lifetimes for the exotic, radioactive nuclei produced in particle accelerators. Much of my day is spent thinking in C++, Matlab, and Python. I have past research experience in nuclear safeguards, and am trained in MCNPX, a Monte Carlo particle-transport code. I also moonlight as an IT consultant and medieval swordfighter, with 7 years of experience administering Windows networks and smashing computer equipment.
